Sesame-Garlic Snow Peas.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups snow peas, trimmed
  2. 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  3. 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  4. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  5. 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  6. Salt, to taste
  7. Black pepper, to taste
  8. Red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Snow Peas: Rinse the snow peas in cold water and trim off the ends. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Toast Sesame Seeds: In a small dry skillet, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat until they’re golden brown and aromatic, stirring frequently to avoid burning. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Heat the sesame oil in a larger skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until it becomes fragrant but not browned.
  4. Cook Snow Peas: Add the snow peas to the skillet with the garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the snow peas are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Season: Add the soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir to evenly coat the snow peas in the seasoning.
  6. Finish with Sesame Seeds: Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the snow peas and give them a final toss to distribute the seeds evenly.
  7. Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. These Sesame-Garlic Snow Peas are excellent as a side dish for Asian-style meals or as a healthy, flavorful snack.
